After impact all the best of the best that were chosen to join space ark felt sadness. They were already safe from what happened on the ground physically. Even if safe from dust and tsunamis, everyone felt really bad, and could not be safe from psychological impact. Not everyone could go of course, so those people knew they are leaving behind a lot of others in suffering. They also knew this had to be done, because other way there would be no more people.
Resources were calculated and sent earlier on really fast schedule. Some parts of supplies were on the opposite side of earth so there was some need for maneuvering to get more water or food. It cannot be that who is first gets all water or food for himself. There is no place for space pirates after the impact. Only thing people can do is to cooperate to survive. Ones that stayed on the ground will have to fight for every piece of food that will run out rather soon.
People chosen for this mission had to be focused on what is the purpose of that plan. Simply following 10 commandments is not enough. If you are not smart enough to understand that you have to share and help others you were not the kind of person to be on the ark. It goes way above simply surviving for you, it is about surviving for whole human race, if you are on ark you know this and you follow all the rules.
First days are rough mentally, everyone can see how Earth is covered with clouds and after couple of days first plants will start to die. Temperature on ground already went down a lot, no sun, no warmth. After month animals will be mostly dead. In the space there is as much of sun as you want, or even too much. Electrical heating, electrical cooling, but one still has to look out for a lot of things and get used to artificial food.
